PCC Community Executive Committee Meeting
July 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
28924 Russ Road, Hayward California

The Meeting was called to order at 2:10 pm.

The May and June minutes were approved as distributed.

Members present: Bayle Emlein, Chuck Horner, Jan Fagerholm, Sid Jordan. Absent: Diane George, Sally Holt, George Kornbluth, Elsie Smith.

Old Business:
Chuck will check with his son Aaron about developing a promotional YouTube video.

The 501 (c) (3) Certificate of Revivor forms have been completed and submitted to the State of California.

George is still working on contacting Weird Stuff.

The Clubhouse has begun exploring using Linux on refurbished computers. Chuck is working on coordinating space with Hayward Adult School.

Michael Wong has suggested seeking business sponsorships. In addition to Weird Stuff, Chuck suggested local computer repair shops, national chains (e.g., BestBuy), and technology training facilities (e.g., Heald).

President's Report — Chuck Horner: Chuck will contact the principal of Hayward Adult School regarding a joint memo of understanding to re-establish a PCC space at the school. Chuck will check with Sid regarding his vision and plans for refurbishing.

Chuck renewed his membership as a Regular Member.

VP Clubhouse --- Sid Jordan: Sid expressed concern about storage; T1 internet; security for equipment; desks, tables, cabinets and racks; access to the building Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 4:30; insurance coverage; a minimum of 30 days notice regarding changes in access. Chuck will be seeing Zach Zakrevsky on Monday to discuss details.

The Clubhouse is now installing Linux Mint Mate on refurbished computers. They are working on creating a user-friendly desktop interface. They have developed a source of peripherals at Tri-CED. This organization supports rehabilitation of people as well as equipment.

Approximately 11 members attend the Clubhouse SIG and work on refurbishing computers.
