The meeting was called to order at 2:09 p.m. by President Chuck Horner.
Members present: Bayle Emlein, Diane George, Elsie Smith, Tom Smith. Absent: Jan Fagerholm, Sid Jordan.
The minutes of the July 2012 meeting were approved.

VP Clubhouse: Sid Jordan: Sid sent an e-mail enquiring about insurance for using an Alameda County facility. Tom reports that since we left CSUEB, we have used the insurance of the facilities where we meet. The question is: how much insurance is needed and what coverage is requested: liability, damages, security, and any other requirements.
Kenneth Aitken Senior Center has been proposed as a potential Clubhouse site. Sally will explore and report.
VP Marketing: Position open: Elsie will explore putting a notice on eBay Classified.
VP Membership: Jan Fagerholm: Member count as of September 15, 2012.

In Sepember, Elsie mailed 32 newsletters. There has been no further response to the survey regarding changing from paper to electronic only Newsletter. There was discussion about the value of continuing to mail it out. It was decided to continue what we are doing.

No report. Diane has added a weather widget for Hayward.Calendar: See the Web site for the latest updates and changes in SIG meetings. Diane would appreciate getting a paragraph from each SIG leader each month to tell what the meeting will cover.

New Business:
Elections in December, nominations will be opened at the October Main Meeting. See the Newsletter for explanation of voting for the Board of Directors, who appoint those who will serve as the operating officers of the Executive Committee: President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, etc. The Board of Directors monitors the Executive committee and if the Executive Committee performs its duties according to PCC bylaws, the Board of Directors have discharged their responsibilities for the year.
