SIGS

SIGs (Special Interest Groups) are smaller groups that meet to learn about specific topics in more depth. SIGs change from time to time as member interests change so keep checking back for new information.

Special Interest Group meetings are held on different days throughout the month at members' homes, businesses and other locations. Check with the SIG leader for location information.

Linux SIG

The wonderful world of Linux allows you to run a variety of window managers and use the same software (translation: Windows with options you never dreamed of.). If this sounds a little confusing, just show up and see the different ways you can run the same programs with different GUIs on Linux. The Linux SIG began in February, 1999 and meets on the last Saturday of the month. Please check the club calendar to verify the date of meeting.

Mobile Computing SIG

Our SIG is open to all mobile enthusiasts and all mobile devices - Netbooks, iPads, Ultramobile PC's, legacy PDA's, even e-books, and of course Smartphones of all flavors. There are many platforms out there for Smartphones today, from Palm Pilot, Palm Cobalt, WebOS, RIM Blackberry, Symbian, embedded Linux, Android, even Windows Phone, and the ubiquitous Apple iPhone.

We meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hayward. Our friendly group includes those deciding which unit to buy, beginners, students, programmers, engineers, developers or anyone between. We support all mobile OS devices, software, accessories, and all related technologies with presentations and Q&A sessions.
